When going through a challenge most people don’t want pity. Pity is something that separates us from the one who is having the experience. Sympathy and empathy come closer to being accepted by the one in the challenge. They at least express some level of connection. Compassion seems to be the most helpful. Compassion implies a connection of experience to experience. The love expressed with compassion allows us to connect on a much deeper level. This level of intimacy helps to feed the thirst in our souls.
